Send announcements

Announcements are how you reach a cohort — a schedule change, a reminder, an
encouragement before an exam.

Write an announcement

  1. Go to Announcements and start a new one.
  2. Choose the audience — a single cohort, or several.
  3. Write the title and body. Keep it short; it shows in the app and, if enabled,

goes out over WhatsApp.

  1. Send now, or save as a draft.

Where announcements go

Every announcement appears in the student app. If you've connected
WhatsApp, it's also delivered as a WhatsApp message so
students see it without opening the app.

Delivery status

After sending, each announcement shows a delivery breakdown — how many reached
students and how many failed (for example, a student with no valid phone
number). Failed deliveries also surface on your Today dashboard so they don't
get lost. Fix the underlying contact detail and resend to just the failures.

Messaging an at-risk group

From cohort analytics you can message a whole cohort with a
prefilled template aimed at students who are falling behind. Because the at-risk
list is privacy-safe and carries no names, the message goes to the cohort as a
whole, not to individuals.

Tips

  • Drafts are useful for preparing a week's announcements in advance.
  • Re-sending only retries failed recipients, not everyone.
